Summer School 2016
Shawsheen Valley Technical High School will conduct its Summer Academic Makeup Program beginning Monday, July 11th and ending Thursday, July 28th at its Billerica facility on 100 Cook Street. The program is offered only to students in Grades 9-12 who must make-up failing grades in English, mathematics, science, and social studies. The morning session runs from 8-11 a.m.; the afternoon session, from 11:20 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.. Unfortunately, no transportation, lunch, or financial aid is available. Walk-in registration will take place weekdays from June 30th to July 8th (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
The objectives pursued by the certified Summer Academic Makeup Program staff are aligned with those identified by the Massachusetts Frameworks learning standards in the respective academic disciplines. However, the courses are not intended to supplant the more rigorous, full-time instruction offered during the regular school year. Students are subject to the academic policies established by their schools and should consult with local officials (principals or guidance counselors) to identify minimum eligibility and passing standards. It is the responsibility of students and parents to ensure that students are enrolled in appropriate courses.
