Principal's Update - January 14th 2022

Dear Shawsheen Students, Parents/Guardians, and Colleagues,

As we near the mid-point of the 2021-2022 school year, we are also quickly approaching the application deadline for the Class of 2026. Please help us spread the word to potential future Rams, who can learn more by visiting the Shawsheen Admissions website where they can submit an online application. The deadline is February 1, 2022.

Billerica Youth Advisory Committee

Please read the following message from Shawsheen sophomores, Emily Penny and Christina Hansford, who are members of the Billerica Youth Advisory Committee and want to make Shawsheen students from Billerica are aware of this opportunity:

The Billerica Youth Advisory Committee is a group of appointed youth, ages 14-18, who represent the interests of their peers to the Select Board. We want to provide insight and suggestions to "make Billerica a place where their generation will want to grow up and grow old." The whole purpose of our committee is to create an outlet for the youth, create an outlet where teens of Billerica can go to a meeting and propose projects, and our main goal is so that youth can feel better about the town. Being able to make youth engagement in local government more accessible benefits both the youth and the town, through a more educated and involved younger population. Billerica youth can be involved in two ways, by applying to be a member of the committee (applications are closed for this session but the board will be looking for new applicants around summertime), or by attending meetings to present ideas to the committee. You can visit the Billerica website or the Billerica Youth Advisory Committee Instagram to learn more.
