Principal's Update - Friday, December 13th 2024

Quarter 2 mid-term grades close today. Progress reports will be published and available to view in the Aspen Family portal by the end of next week. Late bus transportation is available for students so they can stay after with teachers, as needed, for extra help. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this resource as we look ahead to quarter 2 grades closing on Friday, January 24.

Shawsheen's SkillsUSA Chapter Officers

Last Tuesday, Shawsheen's SkillsUSA chapter held its annual officer installation ceremony. Congratulations to this group of student leaders!

Shawsheen Tech Football - 2024 Division 5 State Champions!

Congratulations to the SVTHS Football Team for a great season and a fantastic win at Gillette last Friday - Go Rams!

 

Record Season for the SVTHS Volleyball Team

Congratulations to Shawsheen's Volleyball Team for winning the CAC and state vocational titles, and for their record season with 23 wins and 1 loss, and a special shout out to Coach McGinness for being named coach of the year. Go Rams!

Candy Cane Grams - Sophomore Class: Surprise a friend or staff member this holiday season with a candy cane gram for only $1! Sophomore class officers will be visiting homerooms now through December 17th.

Math Club: The math club will be meeting on Tuesday, December 17 after school in room 332.

Reminder: AFL-CIO Scholarship Opportunity

The following information is from the SVTHS Co-op Office:

The 67th annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Award Program application period is now open, this program will award over a half million dollars in scholarships this year.  All graduating seniors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking a college degree or job training are eligible to compete. Students must register for the program before December 20, 2024, and take an online exam consisting of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay.  The test will be administered at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School during the week of February 3, 2025. Students can register for the scholarship exam by visiting the AFL-CIO website at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships and submitting the form.
