Cosmetology
The COSMETOLOGY program trains students to become licensed cosmetologists by fulfilling the 1000 hour state training requirement to prepare them for the Massachusetts Cosmetology licensing examination. Students will become skilled in a variety of areas including hair, skin, and nails to be ready for a creative, evolving, and interactive profession. Additional topics in the diverse curriculum include anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and salon management. Utilizing the on-campus, full-service salon, students have the opportunity to work with clients one on one to practice their practical and communication skills. Upon completion of the 1000 hour training with instructors and passing the state exam, students are eligible to participate in the Cooperative Education program and gain employment in local hair salons, nail salons, and spas.
