Dear Shawsheen Students, Families, and Colleagues: 

It was a pleasure to welcome parents and guardians to the building last night for teacher conferences - thank you for joining us! Additionally, I would like to extend a thank you to everyone who participated in our School Climate survey. We will be analyzing those results to inform school improvement efforts, and will keep you updated in the coming months on those efforts.

Athletics Updates

The following information is from the SVTHS Athletics Department:

Tonight's Final Four Varsity Football Game

The Shawsheen Tech Varsity Football Team will travel to Scituate High School tonight to take on Old Rochester Regional High School in the MIAA Division 5 Final Four game. Kickoff is at 6:00pm. Please note that tickets MUST be purchased online – tickets will not be available at the admission gate. The link to purchase tickets is available on the Shawsheen Athletics website. Screenshots of tickets will not be accepted at the gate, and please do not redeem your own ticket - event staff will redeem. Proper sportsmanship is expected from all who attend and will be enforced. Go Rams!

Varsity Cheer - Sunday, November 24

Good luck to the Shawsheen Rams Varsity Cheerleading Team as they compete in the State Competition this Sunday at Worcester State University at noon. Go Rams!

Half-Day & Early Building Closure Next Wednesday

Wednesday, November 27, 2024 is an early release day for students. Students will be dismissed at 10:43am, and the building will close at noon. The building will remain closed next Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

AFL-CIO Scholarship Opportunity

The following information is from the SVTHS Co-op Office:

The 67th annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Award Program application period is now open, this program will award over a half million dollars in scholarships this year.  All graduating seniors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking a college degree or job training are eligible to compete. Students must register for the program before December 20, 2024, and take an online exam consisting of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay.  The test will be administered at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School during the week of February 3, 2025. Students can register for the scholarship exam by visiting the AFL-CIO website at Website and submitting the form. For more information, please see your guidance counselor.

REMINDER 2024/2025 Winter Sports Registration is Open -  Click Here to Register

The following information is from the SVTHS Athletics Department:

Winter Sports: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Hockey, Girls Hockey, Cheering, Wrestling and Swimming

Tryouts Begin: Monday, December 2nd

All Student-Athletes interested in playing a Winter sport; MUST register through Arbiter by Wednesday, November 27th. All student-athletes must have a current physical uploaded to their Arbiter account. 

Student-Athletes MUST also complete the following two Concussion Protocols: NFHS Concussion in Sports Course (if you completed the Online Concussion Course in the Fall season you do not need to complete it again and you do not need to turn in the certificate of completion) and Baseline Concussion Testing: The Baseline Concussion Test must be completed by all NEW (9th graders & transfers) as well as RETURNING 11th graders and any athlete who has not completed it in previous seasons. The Athletic Trainer will complete the Baseline Concussion Test during the first few weeks of the season. If you completed the Baseline Test in the Fall season you do not need to take it again.
