Dear Shawsheen Community,
We are off to a great start to the school year at Shawsheen Tech. It has been great to see our students and staff back in the building.
We began the year with class meetings at every grade level, which provided an excellent opportunity to bring everyone back together, set a positive tone, and strengthen our school community. We also paired our new teachers with mentors to help them acclimate to the building, connect with our school culture, and build strong relationships within the Shawsheen community.
Our 9th grade exploratory program is well underway. This important experience allows our freshmen to explore all of the programs Shawsheen has to offer as they begin identifying areas of interest and planning for their future.
In addition to a strong start in the classroom, we are in the early stages of launching a Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) project. This week, I met with town managers in partner communities to discuss next steps and what the process will mean for each community we serve. Our current building, which dates back to the 1970s, is aging and will require significant repairs in the years ahead. This project represents an important step in planning for the future and staying ahead of those needs.
The halls are busy, the classrooms are full of energy, and it’s clear that this is going to be a strong year for our students and staff.
I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the months ahead.
