Dear Shawsheen Students, Families and Colleagues,

Grades close today for the first quarter of the school year. Q1 report cards, exploratory report cards (for cycles 1-5), and failure letters will be published in Aspen by the end of next week for students and families to view. Monday marks a fresh start as it is the first day of the second quarter. We encourage all students to start off the quarter strong and remind students to take advantage of extra-help opportunities as needed. Teachers are available to stay after school two times per week (students should schedule accordingly with their teachers), and the library is staffed until 5:30pm on Mondays-Thursdays (except on early release days).

Attendance Make-Up Day Information

As outlined in Section 3 of the SVTHS Student Handbook, we are offering Attendance Make-Up Days as a new intervention this year (on selected Saturdays and some weekdays during February and April vacation weeks), to provide students who violate the attendance policy an opportunity to earn back credit in their courses. After Q1 grades are published, we will be reaching out directly to students with more than 4 unexcused absences during Q1 with more information on signing up for an Attendance Make-Up Day.
