jan shawsheen connection

Dear Shawsheen Community,

I hope you enjoyed a restful and refreshing break and are off to a strong start in the new year.

As we begin 2026, this is a great time for students, staff, and really all of us to refocus and set goals. I encourage everyone to picture what success will look like in June and then work backward. What grades need attention? What shop skills need sharpening? Is there a certification to earn, a project to finish strong, or a co-op habit to strengthen—like showing up on time, communicating professionally, and asking questions early? A clear plan, paired with steady effort, is what will make the second half of the year successful.

Earlier this week, Shawsheen Tech welcomed prospective students and families at our Open House, highlighting the opportunities available across our 20 program areas. Enrollment is now open for the 2026–2027 school year for incoming Grade 9 students and transfer students in Grade 10, with applications due February 1, 2026.

We are also proud to celebrate the continued success of our co-op program. As of the end of 2025, members of the Class of 2026 had worked more than 46,000 hours, earned nearly $750,000, partnered with 153 employers, and seen 62% of seniors participate—an outstanding reflection of the real-world experiences our students are gaining.

Finally, congratulations to our many All-Star student-athletes across multiple programs. With winter sports now underway, we are looking forward to another exciting season of competition and school pride.

Sincerely,

Tony McIntosh
Superintendent
