Tonight's Graduation - Important Information

Dear Shawsheen Seniors & Families,

We look forward to recognizing all of you at tonight's graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026! Please review the information below prior to your arrival.

High Temperatures & Hydration

As I mentioned during graduation rehearsal yesterday, it is going to be very hot on the field this evening, so please be aware of the following:

  • graduates are encouraged to hydrate in advance.

  • we will have bottles of water available on the field for graduates if they need them.

  • graduates are encouraged to wear breathable layers under their gowns and to wear sunscreen - they will be in sun for a portion of the ceremony.

  • we do not have any concessions at this event - guests should plan accordingly and bring their own water bottles.

Livestream of Graduation

We recognize that the heat will prevent some guests from being able to attend the ceremony and want to remind you that the entire ceremony will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel and can be accessed by clicking on the following link: SVTHS Class of 2026 Graduation Ceremony.

Arrival, Parking, & Entry

The gate to the field will open at 4:30pm and no one will be allowed entry to the field before 4:30pm. Parking is limited and we strongly encourage graduates and guests to carpool, and to be aware of the following:

  • seniors are expected to arrive and report to their assigned rooms by 5:15pm.

  • seating is first-come, first-serve.

  • accessible seating areas will be identified on the bleachers and on the track in front of the bleachers.

  • an accessible parking area will be roped off in the parking lot near the entrance to the field.

  • to prevent damage to the turf field: guests cannot bring their own chairs; graduates cannot wear pointy/stiletto shoes; and cigars/smokeable products are not allowed.

Photographs

We have three different opportunities for photos this evening:

  • SmilePro will be taking professional photos of every graduate. Following the ceremony, SmilePro will contact each family to give them the option of purchasing those professional photos.

  • a Shawsheen Tech backdrop will be set up underneath the scoreboard so that graduates and their guests can take photos (if they choose to) after the conclusion of the ceremony.

  • an area to the right of the graduates (when you are facing the stage) will be roped off and designated as a photo area where a guest of each graduate can go to take photos of their graduate as they walk off the stage. Please note: each guest can only enter the photo area long enough to take photos of their graduate when it is their turn to cross the stage. To make this possible, guests cannot congregate in this area unless their graduate is being called, because it prevents other guests from capturing photos of their graduates.
