2026-2027 Student Handbook & NEW Cell Phone Policy

The 2026-2027 SVTHS Student Handbook can be viewed at the following link:

The most significant change is to the policy for Cell Phones/Personal Electronic Devices. You can view the full language of the new policy (and the changes to the old policy) by clicking on the following link: Changes to the Cell Phone Policy in the 2026-2027 SVTHS Student Handbook. In summary, the new policy states that:

  • Students may only use their cellphones/personal electronic devices at Shawsheen before school and after school.

  • Students may not use cell phones/personal electronic devices during the school day, which begins when the homeroom bell rings at 7:24am, and ends when the dismissal bell rings at 2:04pm.

  • During the school day, students must keep their cell phones/electronic devices turned off and stored in a location that is not visible at any time.

  • If a cell phone or electronic device is confiscated, the following disciplinary actions will follow:

    • First offense. The device will be held at the Dean’s office until the end of day. One office detention will be issued along with an educational component.

    • Second offense and each subsequent offense. The device will be held in the Dean’s office until a parent/guardian can report to the school to pick up the device. Parents/guardians can report to the school between 7am-3pm on school days to do so. One Saturday detention will be issued.

Again, please click on the following link (also linked above) to view the new Cell Phone Policy: Changes to the Cell Phone Policy in the 2026-2027 SVTHS Student Handbook.
