    Course Selection for the 2022-2023 School Year

    Dear Parents/Guardians of Shawsheen Students,

     

    I am writing today to share information about the course selection process for the 2022-2023 school year, for current students in grades 9, 10, and 11. 

     

    The course selection process will begin with grade-level meetings, during which our Academic Director, Ms. Danica Johnston, along with members of the Guidance Department, will present information about the course selection process and course options available to students. You can view all course offerings and course descriptions in the 2022-2023 SVTHS Program of Studies. Meetings for the freshman and junior classes will take place on Monday, March 28, and the sophomore class meeting will take place on Monday, April 4. Information presented to students during those meetings will also be shared with parents/guardians.

     

    Following those grade-level meetings, teachers will make course level recommendations for students, and guidance counselors will meet with students to guide them through the process of selecting courses for next year. Once that process is complete, we will review all course requests internally, and then (closer to the end of the school year) we will share each student's course requests with parents/guardians and provide a window of time for you to provide us with any feedback before finalizing them.
