    Graduation Updates & Reminders

    Thursday, June 1, 2023

    Dear Shawsheen Seniors and Families,

Graduation day is upon us, and I am writing this morning with some updates and reminders for seniors and their guests.

    Updates & Reminders for Seniors:

    • Water Bottles: in anticipation of warm weather, we will be providing water bottles to all graduates this evening (they will be placed under your chairs on the field prior to the procession), and therefore, seniors will not be allowed to bring/carry any water bottles or containers onto the field. The only item graduates can carry onto the field is a camera (or a cell phone to use as a camera).
    • Arrival: seniors are expected to arrive by 5pm and should report to their assigned classrooms at that time. The parking lot fills quickly on graduation night and we strongly encourage seniors and families to carpool and minimize the number of vehicles that will be arriving for each graduate.
    • Caps, Gowns, Stoles, and Tassels: Don't forget to bring all parts of your graduation attire, including your cap, gown, stole, and tassel.
    • Footwear: Pointy high-heel shoes should not be worn this evening on the turf field.

    Updates & Reminders for Families:

    • Ticketed Entry: Purple graduation tickets were provided to graduates for their guests. Guests can begin to enter at 4:30pm.
    • Parking: The parking lot fills quickly on graduation night and we strongly encourage guests to carpool and minimize the number of vehicles that will be arriving for each graduate.
    • Handicapped Parking: A section of handicapped parking will be roped off in the parking lot for guests with handicapped placards.
    • Handicapped Seating: Handicapped seating will be available on the bottom row of the bleachers, and on the track in front of the bleachers.
    • Photo Area: An area will be roped off on the right side of the stage (when facing the stage), which is the side of the stage that graduates will exit after receiving their diplomas. Guests are invited to take pictures from this location when their graduate is called across the stage. We just ask that guests only stand in this area when their graduate is being called to ensure that all guests who wish to take photos from this area are able to do so. Graduates will be called up in alphabetical order by shop. Please refer to the graduation program (which you will receive at the gate when you arrive) to identify when your graduate will be called up to the stage.
    • Professional Photos: SmilePro will be taking photos of graduates as they receive their diplomas. Information will be sent to families about how to order photos.

We are so excited to celebrate the Class of 2023 at tonight's graduation ceremony!  Go Rams!!

    Sincerely,

    Jessica Cook
