    Dear Shawsheen Students, Parents/Guardians, and Colleagues,  

     

    The SkillsUSA Leadership Team's annual Toys for Tots drive ended last Friday, with a total of 385 toys donated by members of the Shawsheen community! Thank you to all who participated, and a special shout out to the SkillsUSA Leadership Team for their efforts.

    ATTENTION SENIORS! - FAFSA Support

    The following information is from the MA Department of Elementary & Secondary Education:

    The Department has partnered with the nonprofit uAspire to provide free support to students and school staff to help seniors complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For Students: uAspire will offer a FAFSA webinar for students three times: 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3; 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30; and 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27. Registration is open online. In addition, FAQs are available in English and Spanish, and more resources are posted on uAspire.org/resources, uaspire.org/Checklist, and uaspire.org/FSAID. 

     

    Reminder: AFL-CIO Scholarship Test for Seniors - Register by Friday, December 22, 2023

    The following message is from the SVTHS Co-op Office:

    The 66th annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Award Program application period is now open. This program will award over a half million dollars in scholarships this year.  All graduating seniors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking a college degree or job training are eligible to compete. Students must register for the program before December 22, 2023 and take an online exam consisting of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay.  The test will be administered at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School during the week of February 5, 2024. Students can register for the scholarship exam by visiting the AFL-CIO website at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships and submitting the form.     Quarter 2 mid-term grades closed today. Mid-term progress reports will be published in Aspen by Friday, December 22, 2023.
