    Dear Shawsheen Students, Families, and Colleagues:

     

    We hope to see many parents/guardians at Parent/Guardian-Teacher Night on Thursday, September 26, 2024! We offer two Parent/Guardian-Teacher Nights each school year. The first one on Thursday, September 26 will be a 'Meet & Greet' with a full schedule from 6pm-8pm (see the chart below for the full schedule). On that evening, parents and guardians will rotate through their students’ schedules to learn more about the classes, teachers, and grade-level expectations their students will experience during the 2024-2025 school year. Individual parent/teacher conferences will take place during our second parent/teacher night, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2024, or as arranged during the school year between families and teachers.

    Please arrive early as the schedule will begin promptly at 6pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The academic schedule rotations will follow your student’s Thursday academic week schedule. Please bring a copy of your child’s schedule with you. If you need a printed copy, please report to the library prior to 5:50pm to get one to ensure you are able to report to designated classrooms on time.

    Shawsheen Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

    The PAC could use volunteers, and parents/guardians of current Shawsheen students are invited to attend PAC meetings. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm in the cafeteria (10/1, 11/5, 12/3, 1/7, 2/4, 3/4, 4/1, 5/6, 6/3).     Textile Recyling Bins now located at Shawsheen - Sponsored by the PAC

    Cleaning your closet and looking for a place for those old worn socks and bleached towels? Recycle them and support the PAC by bagging your items and place them in the PAC's new textile recycling bin located at the first lot on the Cook St. entrance. See attachment for full list of acceptable items.

     

    Updates From Your Class Advisors!

    The following updates for Trivia Night, Homecoming, Pep Rally and Spirit Week are all from the SVTHS Class Advisors:

    Trivia Night for parents - Tuesday, September 24

    The Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027 & 2028 are hosting a Trivia Night for parents at the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus on Tuesday, September 24 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online by clicking here.

     

    Homecoming Dance - Wednesday, September 25

    The annual Homecoming Dance is Wednesday, September 25 in the School Cafeteria from 6:30pm-9:00pm. Dress is causal and no outside guests allowed. Tickets are on sale in the School Store during lunches for $20 each or you can purchase your tickets online by clicking here.

     

    Pep Rally - Friday, September 27

    The annual Homecoming Pep Rally will be held on Friday, September 27.  Students will be dismissed from the pep rally. Reminder this is a half-day of school. 

     

    Spirit Week - September 23 - 27

    Students are encouraged to dress with the following themes:

    • Monday 9/23 - Pajama Day
    • Tuesday 9/24  - Students Dress Like Teachers Day
    • Wednesday 9/25 - Country Club vs. Construction
    • Thursday 9/26 - USA Day
    • Friday 9/27 - Shawsheen Day

    Reminder: Student Leadership Opportunities at SVTHS

    Information was emailed to all Shawsheen students this morning to make them aware of two leadership opportunities for students for the 2024-2025 school year.     Reminder: 2024-2025 SVTHS School Council Election Process for Parent/Guardian Representatives

    Earlier today, information was shared with parents/legal guardians of current Shawsheen students about the process for electing parents/legal guardians to open positions on this year's School Council.
