Sophia Gallant Wins Second Round of Competition in the annual Lions Club Youth Speech Contest
Each year, all Shawsheen students are invited to compete in the annual Lions Club Youth Speech Contest. Sponsored by the Billerica Lions Club, the contest this year asked students to speak for 5-8 minutes on “The best advice I’ve ever received.” This past weekend, Cosmetology sophomore, Sophia Gallant, from Bedford, wrote, revised, memorized, and performed her speech, winning her second round of competition. She will be moving on to the state contest in early April. We wish her continued success! Any student interested in participating next year should contact Ms. Doucette at kdoucette@shawtech.org or stop by room 515.

No School Next Week - February Break
There will be no school for students next week, which means that the majority of staff will be unavailable and out of the building next week. The entire building will be closed on Monday, February 17 for Presidents' Day. Although the building will be open next Tuesday-Thursday, most staff will not be working, and therefore if you reach out during that time, you most likely won't receive a response until everyone returns on Monday, February 24, 2025. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable February break! We will welcome students back to a week 2 schedule when we return from break.
Sincerely,
Jessica Cook
(she/her)
Principal
