Principal's Update
Friday, March 21, 2025
Dear Shawsheen Students, Families, and Colleagues:
Thanks to the leadership of our Student Cabinet and Student Council, Shawsheen is launching a 'Ram Resource Room' in the Guidance department. The room will provide free hygiene and feminine products to students in need, similar to Catie's Closet. Students decided to pursue this initiative instead of a ‘Shawsheen Swap’ due to limited interest in that event, and are VERY excited that this permanent resource will be made available to our student body instead! To stock the room, students are holding a collection drive from Monday, March 24 to Tuesday, April 29. Items being collected include shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, tampons, sanitary napkins, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other hygiene products. Students ask all members of the Shawsheen community to contribute what they can to support this new endeavor. There will be collection boxes hosted in classrooms and shops throughout the school, and at the main office. Go Rams!
Freshman Shop Selection & Placement Begins Next Week!
Next week is an exciting time for students in the Class of 2028, who will be completing their final cycle of exploratory, and participating in the shop selection process so that we can place students in their permanent shops starting on Monday, April 7th. Please review the full details by clicking on the following link: Principal's Office / Shop Selection Information - Friday, March 21, 2025. Information shared at that link is also available in the Guidance Department's March Newsletter and in an email sent directly to freshman parents/guardians from the SVTHS Guidance Department.
Attention Sophomores: Class Rings Are In!
The following message, from Sophomore Class Advisor Maria Baker, was sent to students and parents who ordered class rings:
If you are receiving this email, it is to inform you that your class rings are ready and will be delivered soon! Pick up time will be Monday, March 24th, during lunches. A representative from Jostens will be set up outside the cafeteria where you can pick up your orders. They will only be here from 10:43 until about 12:30pm. There was a message on X and Instagram that rings can be picked up at the Sophomore Semi, but that is no longer the case. Sorry for any confusion! If you are not able to pick up your order and you are paid in full, we will lock the remaining orders and then someone will call you down to pick the order up the next day. If anyone that Jostens doesn’t see on Monday has a problem with their ring or size, they can call the Jostens office directly. If anyone has an outstanding large balance remaining, Jostens will take those rings back until they are paid and then they will mail them directly to your home. They are usually sent with tracking information so you can follow the shipment. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

This award is presented annually by the Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) to one individual from each high school ice hockey league in the state who best exemplifies the highest standards of fair play and sportsmanship.
