Science can be described as the disciplined study of the natural world. Through the study of science, students will broaden their understanding of the natural sciences through class discussions, laboratory activities, and projects designed to challenge critical thinking skills. The curriculum is designed to offer students introductory, college prep and honors level courses that meet and exceed state and national standards in the areas of biology, chemistry, and physics. In addition, the curriculum supports strategies for acquiring academic knowledge and attaining independence in learning. During laboratory activities, students will use the scientific method to seek and explain the events of nature in a reproducible way and use these findings to make useful predictions.
