• Health Assisting

    As the health care field continues to undergo dramatic changes, the need for qualified health care workers for this challenging and rewarding field remains at unprecedented levels. The Health Assisting program prepares students for a variety of opportunities through a curriculum with concurrent clinical and practical experiences.  Students are introduced to the broad spectrum of health studies including courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation Aide, Disease Pathology, and Human Growth and Development.  Students' progress through the years from basic assistant skills to care of the patient in long-term care culminating in care of the acute patient in the hospital.

    State of MA Dept. of Public Health, Nurse Assistant Certification, American Heart Association CPR and First Aid. 

    Articulation agreements exist with several colleges for students to receive credit for coursework done while at Shawsheen.
